Welcome to the Bolton NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression Service

We provide support to people aged 16 or above who are registered with a Bolton GP.

Bolton Talking Therapies provide psychological therapies for adults presenting with common mental health disorders (CMHDs): Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, and specific phobias. We aim to deliver evidence-based therapy in line with the person’s preferred outcome and needs.

We are not equipped to provide care for people:

  • Experiencing symptoms indicative of an on-going severe and enduring mental illness (SMI).
  • Presenting with severe levels of risk or functional limitation that would require team-based care from secondary mental health services.
  • Reporting levels of substance misuse requiring that difficulty to be the primary focus of intervention, prior to management of any concomitant CMHD presentation.
